What We Do

The Carroll County Registry of Deeds is honored to serve the citizens of Carroll County. We are committed to ensuring your documents are recorded in a timely manner, accurately indexed and safely archived. The staff and I are pleased to offer access to the redacted Registry records through this website.

The Registry of Deeds is the office that processes information as it relates to the selling and buying of real property and safely stores the official land records for 19 towns and unincorporated areas in Carroll County. It is a public office open to the professionals and the general public for researching the records. In addition to deeds, mortgages, liens and attachments, there are many other types of documents pertaining to land records filed with the Registry, for example, covenants for developments, by-laws for condominium associations, etc. Plans of surveyed/subdivided property are also found in the records.

There is much information available in the early volumes and anyone interested in genealogy will probably find it useful to research the records. The official records maintained on this website and in the office of the Registry of Deeds are dated from 1840 to present.

Records dated 1962 to present are computerized. The computers enable the user to locate both index and image at the touch of a button. You may also order copies of any documents of interest.

We welcome you to visit the Registry of Deeds in person at 95 Water Village Road, Ossipee, New Hampshire. From Route 16, travel west on Route 28 approximately 1 mile to Water Village Road, a/k/a Route 171, then turn North and travel 1 mile to the Carroll County Administration Building. The Registry of Deeds is on the first floor of the Administration Building. Business hours are 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Recording counter closes at 3:30 PM daily.

Any time you have questions or concerns, our staff will be happy to assist you; or please feel free to contact us at the Registry at (603) 539-4872 or by email at deeds@CarrollCountyNHDeeds.gov
